Trout Pond Guidelines

Update for May 24, 2025– All catch restrictions on the Trout Pond have been removed until fall. Any type of bait is currently permitted and there is no limit on the number of fish that can be kept. Fishing on the pond is restricted to Wintergreen property owners and their guests; a WPOA fishing permit must be displayed, and a valid VA freshwater fishing license is required.
Trout Pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout in a cooperative program with the WSC and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association. Thanks to the WSC volunteers for feeding the fish. Updates will be posted here and in the WSC email newsletters. WSC membership is not required to sign up for our newsletters. Sign up for the free fishing newsletters here.

About 50 anglers and dozens more spectators showed up in beautiful weather to compete in the Seventh Annual Wintergreen Trout Fishing Tournament put on by the Wintergreen Sporting Club and the Wintergreen Property Owners Association on May 17th.
